Author: SMacB | Posted: 2008-02-17 22:43:52 UTC

Well, it must have been over 3 years since I took that (above) image using the IRTF, back when it was open to the general public.
Here it is revisited using the Global-Rent-a-Scope, GRAS-3 in New Mexico
5 x Clear exposures @ 120 sec, bin 1
3 x Red exposures @120 sec, bin 2
3 x Green exposures @120 sec, bin 2
3 x Blue exposures @120 sec, bin 2

Telescope: Takahashi TOA 150
Optical Design: Ortho-Apochromat Triplet
Apature: 5.9" or 150 mm
Focal Length: 41.33" or 1,050 mm
F Ratio: 7.0
Mount: Paramount GT1100s ME
CCD: SBIG ST-10XME (NAGB)
FOV: 32.7" x 48.6"
Image Scale: 1.33
CCD Array Size: 2184 x 1472
Megapixels: 20
Pixel Size: 6.8 um
Filters: Astrdon LRGB (1:1:1) Ha, SII & OIII

Calibrated and combined (LRGB) in MaximDL, added luminance in Photoshop CS2, with retouches in PhotoImpact 6

I may be being a bit mean with the exposure times, but it's a new system to me, and I'm struggling with the reprocessing of the images
