New Comet? - Oh! Disappointment!
Sad news I'm afraid :'( I took another image today, expecting to see a change of around 0.027 sec RA and 6.38 sec Dec in the direction of apparent movement.
GRAS 15 09-Mar-2008 14:00:05 - 14:06:48 UTC.
Luminance 1 x 120 sec
I was surprised when it had, in fact, moved back to near its original position of 03-Mar-2008.
A second image today, some 2 hours later, 09-Mar-2008 16:04:44 - 16:14:13 UTC (Luminance 1 x 120 sec), showed another different motion.
Here is a gif animation of all images taken so far.....
It's possibly just a piece of space junk, as I cannot find any satellites near that area of sky. At least none that are publicly trackable. Worse still, a cloud :-[ That 'halo' though is very intriguing.
