A BRT image of The Pleiades (M45, NGC 1432) or Seven Sisters. A misnomer perhaps, as there are around 500 stars in this open cluster of mainly Be%20type%20stars%20situated%20in%20the%20constellation%20of%20Taurus.<br%20/>60000%20ms%20exposure%20colour%20filter.%2030%20Sept%202008%2004:42:07%20UTC%20RA%203:46:20.0%20Dec%2023:56:22<br%20/><br%20/>Here's%20a%20close-up<br%20/><div%20style="text-align:center"></div><br%20/><br%20/>Below%20is%20my%20effort.%20Not%20the%20best.%20There%20was%20a%20significant%20amount%20of%20blooming,%20you%20can%20still%20see%20the%20&quot;scars&quot;%20from%20by%20deblooming%20efforts,%20but%20any%20shorter%20exposure%20would%20not%20have%20shown%20as%20much%20nebulosity.<br%20/>Interestingly%20it%20is%20a%20common%20misconception%20that%20the%20stars%20formed%20from%20this%20area%20of%20nebulosity.%20It%20is%20in%20fact%20a%20cloud%20of%20carbon%20rich%20dust%20and%20gas%20through%20which%20the%20cluster%20is%20merely%20passing.%20Studies%20over%20a%20long%20period%20have%20apparently%20shown%20that%20the%20stars%20leave%20a%20wake%20as%20they%20pass%20through.<br%20/>[hr]<br%20/>[url=http://macalchemist.net/yabb/Attachments/Pleiades.jpg" alt="" loading="lazy" style="max-width:100%;height:auto;border-radius:10px;border:1px solid rgba(255,255,255,.12);">[hr]
